Craftworkers at Land's End

As a county, Cornwall nurtures and inspires art and ideas, so much so that, aside from London, you’ll find nowhere in the whole country that hosts more working artists. Land’s End is home to a very talented team of independent local craftspeople, so that you might choose a unique handmade gift to remind you of your time here:

The Penwith House Gallery

As our resident artist, Wendy Williams enjoys one of the world’s finest studio locations with spectacular views over the Longships Lighthouse and the endless Atlantic Ocean.

Wendy’s original acrylic paintings and prints are inspired by the incredible beauty of West Cornwall and her richly textured style captures the shimmer of light across landscapes.

Greeb Farm Craft Studio

A popular character amongst our visitors, Eddie Williams shares fantastical stories of piskies, pirates and princesses with those that he meets and many leave inspired and wearing unique silver jewellery.

Eddie’s adept skills as a silversmith have earned him a mention in ‘The Encyclopaedia of Jewellery Making Techniques’ and his pieces including rings, brooches and bangles are simply stunning.

Bill Davenport ─ Glass

An associate of the ‘Guild of Glass Engravers’, Bill has been engraving glass for over twenty years inspired by the rich landscapes and wildlife of West Cornwall.

Delicate compositions and wonderful detail make each of Bill’s creations utterly unique and a vase or a glass from Bill would make a welcome addition to any collection.

Sarah Brown – Leather

Sarah creates the most fantastic array of original objects; from belts to brooches and bags to key-rings each item is soft, rich and produced to the highest quality.

Opting to use an unusual variety of colours, Sarah’s work is vibrant and it’s simply fascinating to watch her hand-craft, carve, emboss and transform leather into wonderful gifts and accessories.

Tom Brooke – Woodcraft

A talented craftsman and pencil portrait artist, Tom is our specialist sign-maker, crafting and hand-painting house names, numbers, wall plaques and even pet portraits from wood.

The pictorial plaques are designed individually and can be adapted for unique requests; such is Tom’s skill that almost any pictorial element can be incorporated where you supply photographs.

Goat Shed Pottery

Try your hand at pot throwing and clay animal making in our rustic studio workshop at the heart of Greeb Farm.

The workshop can also produce items to special order including pet portraits from photographs and individually commissioned ceramic sculptures and house signs.
