Land’s End is preparing for a giant fund-raising party as hundreds of Bikin’ for Boobies charity cyclists complete their 135-mile journey.
Volunteers taking part in the event, organised by breast cancer charity CoppaFeel! will ride from Bude to Land’s End between May 5 and 7.
CoppaFeel! are on a mission to stamp out the late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer.
The cycle culminates in a massive celebratory party featuring local Cornish acts and bands at Land’s End visitor centre.
Headlining the event will be Mad Dog Mcrea, who play a blend of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz and bluegrass and who won Best Album Of The Year at the South West Music Awards 2011.
Other local bands taking part include Melodious Funk, Harvey Taylor, Haylestorm samba and Big Dance Company, with the celebrating starting at 1pm.
The charity cyclists are due to arrive between 2.30pm and 3pm, with Mad Dog Mcrea taking to the stage at 4pm.
Participants in the ride include a group of unicyclists, tandem cyclists as well as 50 participants all in fancy dress.
It'll be a great chance for people to learn more about the fun and life-saving work the charity does as well as support the amazing cycling effort.
CoppaFeel! was founded in October 2009 by Kristin Hallenga who herself was misdiagnosed twice with breast cancer at age 23 and now lives with secondary breast cancer.
The charity educates young women on the importance of checking their boobs regularly and knowing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
