Plan your visit

Coastal Landscape

At Land’s End, the coastal landscape is notoriously wild and the weathering action of waves, wind and salt-spray has produced classic rocky coastal scenery with rock arches, sea stacks, offshore rock islands and rugged cliffs.

The weather at Land’s End is mild, frost-free, wet and windy due to the latitude of the site and the strong oceanic influence of the Atlantic Sea.

The Land’s End peninsula has about thirty gale days per year and gales are most frequent in the winter months with over 65% of the winds being westerly.

We recommend visitors check the regional weather forecast in advance of their visit to Land’s End and dress appropriately with practical footwear.

Wheelchairs

We welcome all types of mobility vehicles and we also have two manual wheelchairs which are free of charge, subject to a fully refundable deposit of £30, and stored in our Visitor Centre.

The chairs are available to borrow on a first come first served basis and no pre-booking is required.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at Land’s End and water is available for them around the site.

Customer Services

When onsite a member of staff is always close at hand to offer you all or any assistance you may require.

Arrival

Car Parking

Throughout the year, there is a charge to park your car, motorcycle or motorhome at Land’s End.

An all-day car parking ticket gives you the chance to discover all of our facilities and explore the 100 acres of natural landscape owned and maintained by Land’s End.

In fact, the funds raised by our parking charge go towards preserving this designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and protecting its fragile ecosystem.

Our maintenance team work hand-in-hand with organisations such as the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, RSPB and South West Coast Path to conserve the natural beauty of the Land’s End headland, and our green team strive to improve energy efficiency onsite and reduce our carbon footprint.

Since 1066, Land’s End has always been private land which is kept open and conserved for the public to enjoy and explore.

Accessible Parking

When you drive to Land’s End, please display your blue badge clearly if you have one; vehicles displaying a blue badge will be directed to designated blue badge parking.

If you are not a blue badge holder but require accessible parking then please speak to a car park steward or member of staff on arrival.

Our accessible parking spaces are located in front of the main entrance and are clearly signed.

If you need to drop off or collect someone from Land’s End, we recommend the coach car park beyond the main gate and on the exit road.

If you are using a taxi-service or require an accessible drop-off point then please pull-in alongside the main entrance, however, due to the fast-moving nature of the site we do kindly ask that drivers are mindful of other vehicles, pedestrians and do not linger longer than necessary at this key access point.

Discover

The Landmark

Land’s End is a world famous landmark – the westernmost point of Cornwall – where you can discover a timeless destination at an iconic coastal location.

The main site is characterised by tarmac pathways, dusty and stony cliff paths, undulating gorse land and spectacular clifftops ranging in height from 61 to 122 metres high.

There are approximately 100 acres of natural landscape at Land’s End which surrounds the 10 acres comprising the main complex.

The principal route through the main site is accessible to manual and motorised wheelchairs but it is important to note that there are undulations in the terrain and sections of cobblestone.

Our most accessible routes to the outlying areas onsite, First and Last House and Greeb Farm, are clearly labelled but we advise customers that these paths are undulating and the return journeys for both locations is an uphill incline.
